This pie is everything you want in a pecan pie. Pay extra attention to roasting the pecans they will burn easily.

Maple Pecan Pie
 
Ingredients
  • Software:
  • 1 cup real maple syrup
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 T light molasses
  • 4 T unsalted butter
  • 1 /2 t salt
  • 6 large egg yokes
  • 1½ cups pecans, toasted and chopped
Instructions
  1. Preheat over to 450
  2. Heat a skillet over med-high heat until hot and add pecans. Toss pecans frequently until toasted. Allow to cool slightly and roughly chop.
  3. Place the egg yokes in a stainless bowl and beat lightly.
  4. Scatter toasted chopped pecans in the bottom of the pie crust.
  5. Mix maple syrup, brown sugar, molasses, and heavy cream in a sauce pan and cook over med-high heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes then stir in butter until melted and finish with the salt.
  6. Pour syrup mixture into eggs while mixing constantly and then pour the finished filling into crust and lights redistribute pecans.
  7. Place the pie in the 450 degree oven and immediately reduce heat to 325.
  8. Bake pie 45 minutes.
